Jupiter's Moon, Io

Astronomers will be able to analyze the chemical composition of the gases and dust from an erupting volcano on the surface of Jupiter's moon, Io.

"In fact, the sulfur monoxide and dioxide in the volcanic emissions would be easily bright enough to image with the millimeter array. Astronomers will be able to watch the whole eruption, and the plume as it dissipates into the Ionian night. The Atacama Large Millimeter Array could make weather maps for Io in short order."
